Two good plus wrappered editions of the poetry of Christopher Pilling, a graduate of the University of Leeds and first winner of the Leeds University School of English/ Yorkshire Post/ Arts Council of Great Britain, New Poet’s Award with his collection ‘Snakes and Girls’.

1. Snakes and Girls. School of English Press: The University of Leeds, 1970. Printed by The Scolar Press. Inscribed by the author to ‘Alistair April 23rd 1970’; 45 poems; 54 pp.; covers just a little finger marked; text crisp and clean. Laid in is the original errata slip and 2 typed leaves containing poem’s titled ‘Ra’ and ‘G.P.’ and a transcription of reviews for Snakes and Girls by Peter Porter, Martyn Seymour and Martin Dodsworth.

2. In All the Spaces on all the Lines. Phoenix Pamphlet Poets: Manchester, 1971. Inscribed ‘for Alistair from Christopher’. 12 poems; 21 pp.; covers a little age spotted; text unmarked.

Both copies come from the collection of a retired University of Leeds academic.
