First Edition of this Victorian era novel written by Mary Anne Jagger. In fair plus condition showing signs of use. Red roan boards age marked, faded and worn to fore edge and corners. Spine panel darkened; gilt titling still visible; bumped to top and tail. Pictorial endpapers worn and a little nicked to edges. An inscription in a contemporary hand by the author to front free verso reads ‘With the kind regard of the Authoress, Honley Aug 31st / 89’. Text block square and sound; a little age toned as expected. Printed by Butler and Tanner, The Selwood Print Works, London. 224 pp.
