A sound and square copy just cracking over rear gutters. Frontispiece pasted onto later flyleaf; age toned throughout. 181 pp. plus 1 p. advertisement; pp.7 & 8 missing as noted on collation; lacking folded leaf of plates. Pencil scribbling to front pastedown. A contemporary ownership inscription reads ‘Mary Ham’ to the recto of the frontispiece. Interesting annotation in a contemporary hand to the margin of p.169. Written by R.B., the pseudonym of Nathaniel Crouch (c. 1640–1725?), a known London bookseller and writer who produced various popular histories. A pleasingly eccentric copy.
