1911 edition in very good publisher’s blue cloth illustrated beautifully in green, red and black to upper and spine. Colours remain vibrant and boards show just minor shelf wear. A crest in gilt to the lower board is that of the Harvey Grammar School in Kent indicating once a probable school prize.

Square and sound. Dark blue endpapers reveal an almost invisible inscription in a childish hand which reads ‘you are a naughty boy Norman’. Just cracking over the title page gutter. A little age spotted to preliminaries and very occasionally throughout. Frontispiece protected by tissue guard in very good condition. Discolouration noted to the lower margins of pp. 7 - 13 and a small tear to the lower margin of p 11. Illustrated by Henry Austin. 320 pp. plus 16 pp. publisher’s advertisements. A lovely book.
