Very fresh and beautifully coloured frontispiece map titled ‘ Geological Map of Great Britain’. Folding plate following x titled ‘Principal Organic Remains of Fossils Index to Geographical Maps’ with light pencil annotation to margin. 15 b/w plates numbered 35 - 50 of fossils to rear. Vibrant beautifully coloured double leaf geological maps numbered 2 - 34b of every county in England, Ireland and Wales to rear; preserved beautifully; very fresh; several sit loosely within the text block although the remainder of the binding is sound and square. 189 pp.

With: A small quarto in good condition in the publisher’s blue cloth titled in gilt to upper and spine. Lightly shelf worn to top, tail and corners; scuffed to rear. ‘Preston Grammar School’ stamp to otherwise clean endpapers. A very fresh copy on the whole with remnants of slight water damage to lower right corner through title page to p.16. Contains 108 b/w photographs to the verso of each leaf next to descriptions to rectos. Fig. 2 and fig. 4 suffer very slight loss to right hand corners due to water damage; remaining photographs crisp and unmarked. 113 pp.
