Six Glasgow Herald Royal Visit photographic supplements dated July 7th - July 13th 1914, bound together to mark the Royal visit of George V and Queen Mary. Printed just weeks before WW1, bursting with 100s of wonderful images, a lasting photographic record of a seemingly prosperous united Britain before the Great War took its toll. The supplements document the final major royal engagement in Scotland, capturing a moment of peacetime just weeks before the outbreak of war. Each leaf is packed full of advertisements and photographs which document visits to crucial industrial sites such as the William Beardmore armaments factory, dreadnoughts on the Clyde and Fairfields Shipyard in Govan.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Six 8 pp. supplements, amateurishly but competently bound together using cream tape and string along spines. All in very good condition. Contents unmarked, a little age toned and clean throughout. Dated July 7, July 8, July 9, July 10, July 11 and July 13. Measure 30 cm x 44 cm.
