Third Edition in very good condition, revised and rnlarged. In eye catching red and gilt decoratively embossed boards featuring an image of a condensing steam engine designed by James Watts, dedicated to engine men and firemen throughout the United Kingdom.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Sturdy red cloth boards with bevelled edges in good condition, age toned particularly to edges, a small bump to tail edge. Gilt titled spine lightly bumped to top and tail. Gilt embossed illustration to front board is rather glorious. Black endpapers clean and fresh. Frontispiece portrait of James Watt protected by original tissue guard. Text block square and sound, unmarked. 44 illustrations throughout plus 5 fold out plates in fine condition. Collated and complete. 282 pp. plus index plus 48 pp. illustrations.
