Thomas Blount's celebrated account of the future Charles II's escape from Parliamentary soldiers after the Battle of Worcester complete with the two maps but lacking van Houe’s portrait of Prince Charles. This is the third edition of Blount’s text which appears here alongside Anne Wyndham’s Claustrum Regale.

Late 17th or early 18th century panelled calf, neatly respined. Circular booklabel of ‘William Powell’ to front pastedown. New flyleaf; engraved title to Claustrum Regale bound before letter press title page of the main text, Boscobel, which has the ownership signature of ‘John Barrett’ and ‘J Hill 9th May 1813’. Burnford’s map of Worcester is bound opposite A4r; stained and some tears; a little loss to lower corners. Coat of arms on F1r; Burnford map of Boscobel estate opposite F2r; F2r lacking sliver of paper at lower foreedge, not touching text. The earliest ownership inscription is ‘Bartholomew Cox, his Booke’, upside down on the final flyleaf. A well thumbed copy whose text collates complete: A-K8; L3 but without the portrait. OCLC 221367673.
