Pickwick Abroad or The Tour in France Part 3

A rare original copy of part 3 of the serialised second edition of ‘Pickwick Abroad or the Tour in France’ by GWM Reynolds. Throughout his career Dickens was the victim of plagiarism and a lack of enforcement of copyright law saw many authors including George Reynolds claim their work to be a continuation of Dickens’s original novel ‘The Pickwick Papers’. ‘Pickwick Abroad’ was serialised between 1837-1838 and published in book form in 1839.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: In very good condition. Card wrappers age toned, a little nicked in parts and bumped to corners as expected. Illustration to front crisp and sharp. Binding very sound. Early leaves containing advertisements remain uncut. Two steel engravings by Alfred Crowguill in very good condition. Text block clean and unmarked throughout. 96 pp. collated and complete. A very pleasing copy.
