Bookplate of ‘Thomas Lediard’ to the front pastedown (1685-1743, diplomat, stage designer and latterly Agent and Sureyor of Westminster Bridge, resident in Smith Square). Cracking to paper over inner hinges; owl frontispiece: collates complete pp264; final flyleaf (of two) removed leaving stub. John Barber’s declaration (p226) dated 1732. OCLC 833504434. A lovely fresh-feeling copy with attractive 18th century provenance to the heart of the British establishment.
