Seemingly unrecorded pocket size volume recounting a September journey through Devonshire and Cornwall taken in 1880. Our adventurous female author ‘A-’ writes ‘in presenting this little account of a joyful holiday to her friends she may fairly recommend to them to go and do likewise’. The 48 leaves within are in good condition and tell the account of an idyllic journey commencing at the Railway Hotel in Taunton on August 30th where A and P meet before heading off on their travels. On Sept 1st they depart for Crediton, on Sept 3rd they climb Yes Tor, Tavistock is visited, a walk is taken over the cliffs to Boscastle and historic sights are visited along the way finishing up at the Bath Arms in Warminster on Sept 29th 1880.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Brown cloth boards in good condition bar remnants of a cup mark to front; embossed decoratively front and rear, titled in gilt. Dark green endpapers clean and crisp. Inscription to top of title page reads ‘To dearly beloved [Dessianes] from her DD. 1st flight’. Entirely sound and unmarked througHout.
