PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Publisher’s red cloth in good condition lettered and embellished in black to front board and in gilt to spine. Corners a little bumped and spine tips bumped. Tender over gutters front and rear. Endpapers age toned as expected. Title page displays a bookplate belonging to Alfred FP Worsfield Alfred Felix de Parmantier Worsfield, an English architect born in Brighton, Sussex in 1900. The author’s inscription ‘Hall Caine 1919’ sits below the half title. Text block in very good, clean condition throughout. 584 pp. plus Word to the Reader and Advertisements to rear.
