Two hand written contemporary manuscripts logging the accounts of the ships St Trinian and Providence, both on entry to London and both with links to the Sunderland area. In very good condition measuring 38 cm x 25 cm.

Account sheet of the St Trinian of Sunderland – Paperwork addressed to Capn Sam Burleigh at Sunderland, Durham and headed ‘London entered 15th August 1774. Samuel Burleigh Master of the Ship’. To the reverse is a hand written note confirming the account balance signed by ‘Wm. King’. The account sheet folds to create an envelope. Remnants of original seal visible. A clean tear approx. 3 cm long to edge does not compromise the text. A little loss around the remnants of the seal. Black ink remains crisp against the cream of the page. Watermarked ‘J Whatman’. In good condition.

Account sheet of the Providence – Paperwork addressed to Mr Samuel Burleigh, Sunderland and headed ‘London entered [1778]. Capn. James Gibson. Master of the Ship’. To the reverse is a hand written note to W Samuel Burleigh confirming the detail of the bill, signed Peter [Banks]. The account sheet folds to create an envelope. Remnants of original seal visible. In good condition. Black ink remains crisp against the cream of the page.
