RAF Cosford opened in 1938 as an aircraft storage and repair facility and became a major training unit during WW2. These 7 volumes dated between March 1953 and April 1955 have been created and published by those stationed at RAF Cosford, Staffs. The volumes are jam packed with news and notices. The magazine committee is presided over by Air Commodores W.L Freebody and subsequently Air Commodore R.J Pilgrim. Squadron leaders, flight lieutenants and officers make up the editorial staff. b/w photographs of sporting events, club activities, parades and camps fill the pages alongside staff notes, prize winners, obituaries, church news, staff movements, letters to the editor and much, much more.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Each volume is wrapped in bright blue card, printed to the front cover ‘The Cosford Magazine’ above the badge of RAF Cosford, the volume number and date. Wrappers a little browned and bumped to edges, otherwise in good condition. March 1953 volume annotated in pen to front and rear with list of surnames and numbers. Text within legible and clean throughout, occasional handwritten notes. Advertisements to front and rear. Circa 95 pp. per volume. Printed by TF King Wolverhampton.
