This scarce copy contains 68 full page printed monochrome examples of alphabets, styles of lettering, spacing and layouts. Chapters on inks, brushes, pens, choice of paper, window strips, ornamental effects, sign writing and the making of sign boards. Cloth covered boards in fair condition, bumped to corners, lightly scuffed, age toned. Spine panel titled in black, bumped to top and tail, sun faded. Endpapers clean front and rear. Rear paste down displays bookseller label ‘Taylor & Colbridge Booksellers, Doncaster’. Very slight water damage evident to top of text block edges – not apparent internally. 157 pp.
