PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

First edition in original dust jacket. Brown cloth boards in very good condition with a slight bump to top front edge and lettered in gilt to spine. Top text block edge pink, remaining edges a little marked. Endpapers and text block internally crisp and clean throughout. Original DJ designed by Hans Tisdall in good condition. Colours remain vibrant. Very slightly bumped to bottom corner, stained and slightly nicked along front fold. Small 1 cm clean tear to top edge. 191 pp. Laid in are 2 contemporary paper cuttings reviewing the novel dated 1964 by Polly Toynbee and Cyril Connolly.
