PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Dark green buckram boards in fair condition, stained to front and rear. Front board loosened along spine hinge. Spine chipped to top and tail, cream title label browned. Cracking to paper over front and rear internal hinges. Spine is still strong but internally some of the pages lay flatter than others, showing the spine cords. End papers yellowed, spotted brown. Text block shaken but remains sound throughout. Hand written address label bonded to front paste down reads ‘Salisbury, July Twenty Eighth 1835. George Matcham Esq. Holland House Kensington Nr Hounslow. Signed Nelson’. Half title page annotated to top ‘Horatio Nelson Eyre Matcham. A present from Earl Nelson 1835’.
