PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Good original cloth boards showing modest spots of wear and a little surface abrasion with bevelled edges and gilt lettering to front and spine. In very sound condition. Measuring 23cm x 15 cm. End papers unmarked although age toned. Leaves exhibit a few age spots throughout. Text block edges rough cut. Pasted within are 8 hand written letters from Le Strange to WT Bewley Esq LLD sent from Hunstanton Hall, Norfolk and 1 Eaton Place, London dated between 15 Oct 1889 and 5 April 1890. Le Strange asks for ‘a little help’ with the preparation of this new edition of Norfolk Official Lists. Hand written annotations noted on pp. 56 and 57 on collation. Contents otherwise unmarked. Laid in is a paper cutting listing Norfolk men who were mayors and Sheriffs of London before 1650 and an 11 page chapter from Norfolk Archaeology Vol XXV 1934 titled The Chamberlains and Treasurers of the City of Norwich 1293 -1835 bound with tape along spine edge. 315 pp.
