PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Dark blue paper covered boards embossed in green gilt to spine in excellent condition. Original dust jacket designed by Michael MacGuinness in good condition, a little shelf worn along top edge. A small amount of shelf wear to top and fore edge of text block. Internally in very good condition throughout. Front and rear end papers have pasted by the top corners, copies of excepts from 17th century books titled Miracula Nature, The Gyant and The Wonder of Nature. 178 pp. collated and complete. Illustrated with photographs. Inlaid are various ephemera belonging to the author including:

A typed letter dated 1973 to Colin Clair from Colin Jackson of the Sunday Times Magazine. Included are 4 b/w reproduction photographs measuring appox 20.5 cm x 12 cm and 1 postcard all in very good condition which were being returned. The images include the Chinese Giant Chang, the dwarfs Count Boruwalski, Wybrand Lolkes and Buckinger and the Yorkshireman Jenkins who lived to 169. All are labelled C Clair London SE5 to rear.

A typed letter to Colin Clair dated July 1974 from Cheddington Lodge, Dorset thanking him for his help responding to a query about Matthew Buchinger.

An additional bundle of 8 b/w reproduction photographs measuring approx. 20.5 x 12 cm of characters from the book.
