From the library of a distinguished British scholar of Ezra Pound, this collection of essays has been inscribed by its editor the poet Peter Russell: ‘For mother with love from Peter [Russell] October 30th, 1950 - the date of publication, being the sixty fifth birthday of Ezra Pound’ with Russell’s ownership stamp and ‘Please return to’ above - no doubt inherited back from his mother after her death.

A near fine copy, a little spine lean, spotting to the endpapers in very good jacket. Peter Russell (1921-2003) was a poet and critic, described by Dana Gioia as "a poet of striking contradictions. He is an immensely learned writer with an anti-academic temperament, a Modernist bewitched by classicism, a polyglot rooted in demotic English, an experimentalist in love with strict traditional forms”. The subject of this tribute volume, Ezra Pound, requires no introduction.
