DELICIOUS CONTEMPORARY BINDING The Works of Jonathan Swift Dean of St Patrick’s Dublin

Uniformly bound with red and black morocco spine labels, gilt decoration and speckled edges to the text block. Apart from a couple of volumes with wear to the headcaps, these bindings are in excellent condition. On the front pastedown each volume has the book label of the Wakefield Quaker banker and abolitionist ‘William Leatham’ (1785-1842) with a penned ‘No 28’ appended to each label. A little browning to preliminary leaves and the general title of the first volume but otherwise fine internally. Vols 11-13 have the variant imprint of Alexander Donaldson as called for.
