Histoire de Fenelon, Archeveque de Cambrai

Embossed coloured paper with a central vignette to the upper board of Fenelon in full flow, declaiming from the pulpit, and a floral motif in the equivalent frame on the lower board. There is extensive rubbing to the binding which has cracked along the upper outer hinge and has old paper reinforcement to the inner hinge. An erased early pencil inscription dated to 1864 on the first flyleaf and childish pencilled numbers on the pastedown opposite. Foxing to the endpapers and scattered through the text and on the foreedge. Despite the problems, a terrific book.
