Sheet music, large folio: a collection of engraved music dating from the first half of the 19th century, bound together in one volume. Bound in half leather over marbled boards, the condition is very good; the covers are rubbed, the leather nicked and worn with one small hole to the spine; the binding is firm, the pages are bright with only occasional spotting and neat tape repairs. There is a modern bookplate to the front pastedown of E A and M Richardson and many of the titles are inscribed Richardson 1835. There are pieces by famous composers such as the Finale to Rossini's Cenerentola, a Grand Duet for Two Performers on One Piano Forte by Mozart, and The Queen of Prussia's Waltz by Beethoven. Less well known pieces include several by G Kiallmark, Pleyell's German Hymn published by Knapton of York, the Laura and Lenza Duet composed by M Holst and The Saxe Cobourg Waltz by J Monro. The Richardson family show their fondness for dancing with a Leeds imprint of Royal Galopades as danced at Almacks and the Nobility's Balls by Edw Willis. The younger generation were encourage with Popular Airs Arranged as Duets for Juvenile Performers on the Piano Forte by D Bruguier. A fascinating collection of 19th century music for which extra shipping charges may apply.
