Photograph Album of drawings of the Eglinton Hunt

An album of albumen photographs of drawings of the Eglinton Hunt dating from about 1881. The collection comprises of lively portraits of members of this prestigious Scottish hunt on their mounts including Lord Eglinton, The Hon F Villiers, The Hon G Vernon, Colonel Stewart, Admiral J Montgomerie RN, Col Henry Boyd of Symington and Sir James Ferguson. Riding side saddle are lady members such as Mary Anne Anderson and Mrs W Middleton. Also included are hunt servants such as Old Cox, while Lady Eglinton and the Hon Mrs Vernon are portrayed in their carriage. The artist's monogram of J H O B appears on many of the images. The photographs are mounted on stiff card with the subject's name written in pencil on verso. The 46 plates (12x16 cm) are loose within a folder of red pebbled cloth with watered silk end papers.
