(12.5x 9cm) Vintage photograph showing Laurence Olivier in character as Othello in the 1965 film. This is a matt finish proof, marked 'Othello' in blue ink in the margin, and was owned by Olivier himself, probably dating from the 1970s. From youthful success Olivier went on to become the preeminent actor of his generation, defining the great Shakespearean roles of Hamlet and Henry V for mid-century Britain.
