pp37 FDR's record of "the salt-water wanderings of a houseboat jointly owned and operated in 1923 to 1926 with his old friend John Lawrence" with an introduction by Donald Scott Carmichael. One of fifteen copies reprinted from The Franklin D Roosevelt Collector, VolI, No 1, November 1948, bound for the author to distribute to certain FDR enthusiasts. A very attractive limited edition printed on high quality paper, fine in blue paper wrappers. Inscribed by Carmichael with laid in letter [1 TLS] from Carmichael to Frederick Adams. This book comes from the Franklin Delano Roosevelt collection of Frederick Baldwin Adams Jr, 1910 - 2001, the son of Ellen Walters Delano who was a first cousin to President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Adams became a passionate bibliophile who served as director of the Pierpont Morgan Library in New York City for two decades and compiled a significant personal collection relating to F.D.R.. In 1969 he married his third wife who was a Swedish princess and with whom he shared the final years of his life in France. Adams' move to France explains the presence of his books in the United Kingdom.
