The Gothic and Baroque Style in Old Prague: Twenty Original Wood-Engravings

A beautifully produced collection of 20 architectural illustrations of the city of Prague, inscribed by Julius Horn to the title page. The original wood engravings (5 x 7cm) entitled Praga Caput Regni, are laid down onto buff card within a binding of cream leather with raised bands and gilt titles. In very good condition, the covers are lightly marked with a 1cm tear to the head of the spine. There is a water stain to the foot of the title and contents pages but the plates are fine; the subjects include the bridge tower of the old city, the Jewish town hall and St John's Church. A most interesting volume.
