Bury-Fair

A Restoration era play quarto from a collection compiled by the financier and book collector, Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmid (1778-1859) and rebound by 'T Connolly' of Dublin. Collated, lacking 3 leaves (A1-3) including the title page. Bound in half vellum over attractive marbled boards with black Morocco label, last quarter of the 19th century, binder's ticket of 'T Connolly, 10 Up. Ormond Quay, Dublin'. In good condition, the spine label is worn, the pages are clean and undamaged; contemporary inscription of author's name added to page 1, and dates on the prologue show that this play was 138 years old in 1827.
