[vi] pp120 [photographs] Large Folio. A thesis on Antwerp printer and publisher Christopher Plantin (1520-1589) submitted for examination at Leeds College of Technology in 1953. Bound in Buckram with brown spine lettering, yellow top edge and attractive 'mid-century' patterned end papers. Printed title page and photographic reproduction of a portrait of Plantin by Reubens. The text is singled sided typescript on white paper, followed by more photographs illustrating Plantin's printing office and examples of its publications. In very good, clean condition although with a slight musty smell. This copy comes from the collection of Yorkshire bookbinder and bibliophile Martin E Thorpe.
