A Restoration era play quarto from a collection compiled by the financier and book collector, Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmid (1778-1859) and rebound by 'T Connolly' of Dublin. [8], 24, 33-48, 41-71, [1] Despite erratic pagination this play is collated and complete as per the English Short Title Catalogue. Bound in half calf with gilt spine lettering and decoration over marbled boards, last quarter of the 19th century, binder's ticket of 'T Connolly, 10 Up. Ormond Quay, Dublin'. In very good condition, the title and final page are soiled and nicked but the rest of the text is exceptionally clean, bright and crisp. This copy of the only play by Irish actor Thomas Dogget comes from an extensive Irish collection of quarto plays.
