The She-Gallants: A Comedy As it is Acted at the Theatre in Little-Lincoln-Inn-Fields by His Majesty's Servants [Restoration Play Quarto]

A Restoration era play quarto from a collection compiled by the financier and book collector, Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmid (1778-1859) and rebound by 'T Connolly' of Dublin. [6] pp75 [1], no half title. Bound in half green calf with gilt spine lettering and decoration which features the initials JLG in Gothic script and a gilt device of lion rampant with a cannon; green marbled boards, last quarter of the 19th century, binder's ticket of 'T Connolly, 10 Up. Ormond Quay, Dublin'. In very good condition, stab sewing holes visible, the pages are near fine being bright, crisp and clean, a tiny burn hole on page 69 being the only blemish. There is a contemporary inscription in pencil to the title page where the author's name has been added. A very attractive copy which comes from an extensive Irish collection of quarto plays.
