A Restoration era play quarto from a collection compiled by the financier and book collector, Sir Isaac Lyon Goldsmid (1778-1859) and rebound by 'T Connolly' of Dublin. [10], pp50, pp65-103, [1], collated and complete as per the English Short Title Catalogue. Bound in half green calf with gilt spine lettering and decoration which features the initials JLG in Gothic script and a gilt device of lion rampant with a cannon; green marbled boards, last quarter of the 19th century, binder's ticket of 'T Connolly, 10 Up. Ormond Quay, Dublin'. In very good condition, the pages are clean and fresh with no inscriptions, stab holes visible, the title page is torn at the gutter but secure, the lower corners of pages 11 and 15 are worn. An attractive copy which comes from an extensive Irish collection of quarto plays.
