'An Early Glimpse of Ballets Russes' Manuscript Draft and Corrected Proof with Photograph

[pp5 typescript; corrected proof; typed letter; vintage photograph.] Original typed article and corrected proof concerning the discovery of two chalk drawings of 'the Diaghilev Ballet, in Les Sylphides and Le Carnaval' written by Nancy Bowden, an assistant to the London dance historian, Cyril Beaumont. Accompanying proof photocopy sent by the editor of Dancing Times, Mary Clark, to Bowden with several tiny corrections in the writer's hand. Additionally a longish typed letter from Clark to Bowden about her caring responsibilities, 'The penalty of being an only child - it is all, metaphorically, beer and skittles when you are young but not much fun at the other end!'
