The Buildings of England: Cambridgeshire

[13] pp 10-516 Pevsner's Cambridgeshire with a letter from the author to a correspondent who had written to Pevsner about the series. Pevsner's letter is written on 'The Buildings of England' notepaper, dated '29 Apr 66' and written to a Mr Reid, thanking him for his letter of March 30th and 'for all the comments on The Buildings of England. I cannot yet judge which items of addenda will be necessary, but I shall deal with that when it comes to second editions' Pevsner has signed his name, in biro, 'N Pevsner'. The accompanying copy of Pevsner's Cambridgeshire is very fresh, nearly fine in a near fine jacket. Pevsner's county guides to the buildings of England have long been acknowledged as 'one of the great achievements of 20th-century art scholarship'. Signed copies and letters by the great man appear on the market only infrequently.
