Ambrose Heal’s personal copy of a scarce original sales catalogue of manuscripts issued by George Sherwood of 210 The Strand, London. The catalogue contains much which would have been of interest to Heal who researched, collected and published several volumes on the activities of London tradesmen from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Annotations to the margins within highlight specific lots of interest, ‘Tailors - Bills of John Ward, 1665’, ‘London Tradesmen - A collection of original tradesmen’s bills dated 1663 -1806’.

A rich primary source in near very good condition. Printed wrappers foxed, a little scuffed to spine top and tail, otherwise sound, text block a little foxed. 8vo. 60pp. Printed by Adlard and Son Ltd, London and Dorking.
