An original 170pp typescript (3rd Draft - Typed 3rd June 1986) of Maggie Wadey’s TV adaptation of Northanger Abbey, broadcast in the UK in February 1987 as part of BBC Two's prestigious Screen Two anthology series.

The film was a joint production between the BBC and the A&E Network. Directed by Giles Foster and produced by Louis Marks. To highlight Catherine's obsession with Gothic literature, Maggie Wadey added highly dramatised dream sequences and an unusual, synth-infused musical score by Ilona Sekacz, making it one of the more unique Jane Austen adaptations ever televised.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: 147 pp typed to versos only. Clean and unmarked throughout. Held securely by metal clip to top left corner. ‘Programme No: 1/LDP/J413F’ REHEARSAL SCRIPT BBC-2’ typed to top of title page below ‘3rd Draft - Typed 3rd June 1986’ in black pen,
