In near very good condition. A set of five pocket sized Edwardian children’s books in overall good plus condition, a little dulled showing typical edge wear. Thick card wrappers very good throughout the five, illustrated with colourful paste on covers; cord tied spines very good; coloured pattern endpapers unmarked; full colour frontispiece plates and charming line illustrations very good. A little age spotted to flyleaves and very occasionally through text blocks. ‘Barbara’ or ‘B’ written in pencil in a child’s hand to preliminaries of two books. Title page and pp3 loose from the binding in The Little Old Woman of X. Each measures c 5.5 cm x 6 cm. 32pp; 32pp; 31pp; 29pp; 31pp.

A charming little set from the miniature library series published between Henry Frowde and Hodder and Stoughton, an alliance famous for manufacturing beautifully illustrated books for younger readers.
