First Edition in very uncommon unclipped dust jacket in overall near very good condition. Blue cloth boards very good, embossed in red to upper with insignia of The King’s Royal Rifle Guards. A square and sound copy, corners just a little bumped and lower board very lightly scuffed. Endpapers and text block clean and crisp. Illustrated frontispiece plus maps (one fold out titled Normandy to Hamburg), photographs and illustrations throughout. Original jacket shelf worn; spine panel intact although nicked to top and tail; further nicked along top edges; torn with loss to part of lower rear; splitting along spine hinges; dust marked. 401 pp. plus index.
