Abrege D'Astronomie par Jerome Lalande

Second Edition including complete set of 16 folding plates in very good contemporary sheep boards just a little bumped to corners. Very handsome 6 panelled spine ornately tooled in gilt and titled over red ground. Age toned as expected throughout; endpapers clean; remnants of an ink and water stain evident to title page. Text block very sound and unmarked other than an annotation which reads ‘1775’ in the margin of p. v and a hole to the tail of p. xx which has a small arrow pointing towards it and ‘Renaud’ written in blue ink. Charming vignettes to chapter endings. To the rear 16 marvellously detailed folding plates remain in very good condition. Collated and complete. Title page, v -xxiii, 420 pp. 16 plates.
