A small archive which celebrates the life of Anglican clergyman and mystical poet Thomas Traherne who was born circa 1636 in Hereford, England. Following study at Brasenose College, Oxford he became the rector of Credenhill in 1657. In his lifetime he published only one book, Roman Forgeries (1673) and the rediscovery of his work is considered one of the great stories of modern 20th century literary scholarship. The archive includes:

The service commemorated Thomas Traherne and dedicated a new stained glass window in his memory. Laid into the order of service is an accompanying colour illustrated 4 page folded description of the windows. In excellent condition.

2. The Thomas Traherne Newsletter 33. Dated August 2006. Edited by the Revd Richard Birt. Containing ‘Credenhill Revisited’ by John Kinross, Anne Ridler’s poems and Donald’s memorial to her, Trinity Sunday Credenhill Sermon, poem by Sister Gillian SSC Tymawr, ‘Child’ by Sylvia Plath and Edward Thomas writing about Traherne’s view of childhood. In excellent condition.
