Little is known of would-be poet Frank Stanley Morgan’s life. The handwritten title page of his handsome album notes links to Herbert’s Lodge, Bishopston, Glamorgan and Christ Church, Oxford and is dated 1914. Within, 7 poems each titled and handwritten in a neat legible font are dated between 1906 and 1911. Each is signed off with the location of its inception, being either Marlborough Xmas, Combe Florey, Somerset or Christ Church. Each poem tackles in a rather dry fashion various subjects including an ode to the violet, an account of a car accident, the exam and the examination officer and governmental tariff reform in the Somerset elections. Entries end abruptly on July 3rd 1911 leaving circa. 150 blank leaves.
