Attractive, hand coloured, very detailed map of Lancashire In good condition in its original slip case. Published 1820 as a loose sheet map segmented and pasted on folding linen in twelve sections measuring 51 cm by 41 cm. All panels sound and intact, yellowed, age toned. A small ink mark is visible to bottom right fore edge. Visually the print is clear and clean. Very slight loosening of the map from the linen backing predominantly to the edges. Very small nicks along top edge. Map includes an engraving of the College at Manchester, an explanation and remarks. Original colour still vibrant.

Slip case in good condition, mottled green paper on card showing minor bruising to corners, some darkening and staining to lower half of rear board. Fraying to tops of side panels. Lancashire inscribed in black ink over white ground to top of left-hand side panel. Publisher’s plate, age toned, browned to front inscribed LANCASHIRE in red font BY THOs DIX.
