Charles Jackson, A Narrative of the Sufferings and Escape of Charles Jackson, Late Resident at Wexford in Ireland, 1798, Third Edition, Dublin, 1798, [2] x, pp11-90 - seemingly unrecorded third Irish edition (Not OCLC, ESTC, COPAC) of this important account emerging from the Wexford Rebellion which was printed in London, Dublin and Sligo in the immediate aftermath of the traumatic suppression of the rising. All the surviving early Irish editions of this loyalist work are scarce.

Jackson’s unrecorded edition of his Narrative is the most significant item in the collection of which we can find no institutional record - several of the early editions seem to have disappeared entirely. No doubt its sensational content contributed to its being devoured on first appearance. The Report with which the volume ends is also rare and fascinating to find it next to Jackson’s account.
