First edition bound in beige publisher’s cloth with gilt lettering to spine in near fine condition with slight bumping to top and bottom of spine. Some brown markings to end papers. Dust jacket in good condition with a couple closed tears and chips to spine and edges. A cellotape repair has been made to the bottom right corner of the front cover. Not price clipped. Two lithographs detached from text with cellotape scars on the back. From the library of John Cunliffe (1933-2018) who is best remembered as the creator of Postman Pat. His ownership book plate is located on the upper pastedown and a pen annotation on the same page in Cunliffe’s hand reads ‘Hampstead February 1957’.
