From John Cunliffe’s library but originally from Constance Irving’s collection, a third impression bound in blue publisher’s cloth with gilt lettering to upper board and spine. Embossed symbol to lower right of lower board. In good condition with fading and bumping to spine and white circular mark to lower board [pictured]. Dusting to top edge. Cunliffe (1933-2018) is best remembered as the creator of Postman Pat. Constance Irving (1879-1964) was a textiles artist who exhibited work in the second Post-Impressionist and Cubist exhibition which took place in Liverpool between March and April 1911 alongside Gauguin, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Matisse and Picasso - her large bookplate appears on the front pastedown. Cunliffe’s ownership plate is located on the upper flyleaf.
