pp 368 The First and Last Notebooks of French philosopher, political activist and Christian mystic Simone Weil, translated by Richard Rees. An unidentified ownership inscription appears on the front free end paper along with extensive annotations to the text, especially to the New York Notebook. Very good in red cloth, sunned to spine ends, top edge and contents page spotted; in a good dust jacket, creased and rubbed to the edges but complete, red spine faded. Simone Weil has been described variously as prophet, psychopath, religious masochist, and saint.
