Three volumes. Very good in beige cloth, upper cover and spine delightfully decorated with embossed floral design and gilt titles, lower panels a little marked, gilt top edges. With floral end papers and good quality, fresh pages in square bindings, volumes I and III just starting to crack. Illustrated with reproductions of contemporary paintings and drawings which the author uses to depict the fashions and social manners of the times. A very attractive set. From the collection of a former costume designer at Yorkshire Television, who studied at Leeds College of Art. As this item is heavy additional postage costs may apply.
