A new edition, revised, of Lord Anson's expedition to the South Seas, in an Edinburgh academy prize binding of polished calf with a laurel wreath design to the upper cover, pretty gilt tooling to the spine, marbled end papers. Very good, leather worn to the corners and spine ends, the binding is tight; the text is clean and complete with large fold out map showing the track of Anson's ship, The Centurion, around the World. The map is creased to outer edge but otherwise fine. Attractive bookplate of W P Williamson featuring a fishing scene. A splendid volume.
