Attractive presentation copy of the first trade edition, inscribed ‘Miss Julia Skerrett with all best wishes from Alfred Bruce Douglas’ on the front flyleaf. With a small silver gelatin photograph of the middle aged poet seated in a deck-chair on an ocean liner. Julia Skerrett (1871-1945), spent her early years in New Zealand before returning to Europe.

Poet and journalist Lord Alfred Douglas (1870-1945) is remembered as ‘Bosie’, the lover and nemesis of Oscar Wilde.

Attractive green buckram; portrait frontispiece; Times Book Club ticket to lower paste down. A very good plus copy.
