A Sessional Course of Lectures on The Story of Architecture Through the Ages

A small hard backed album titled ‘Architecture Course’ containing 32 outlines of lectures on ‘The Story of Architecture through the Ages’ compiled by Mr George H. Cook, ‘Member of the Architectural Association’. In very good condition. A pasted note to the front pastedown reveals that the lectures are delivered ‘Fully Illustrated by Lantern Slides and Diagrams’. Each lecture outline is a facsimile copy of a handwritten original and fills one leaf to the verso only, followed throughout by single blank leaves. A typed syllabus is tipped in to the front flyleaf outlining the contents: The Art of the Greeks; Roman Architecture; The Byzantine Style; Romanesque in Italy and Germany; Saxon and Norman; Gothic; Belgian Civic Buildings; Italian Gothic; Renaissance in Italy and France; English Architecture, Greek and Gothic Revivals and Modern Architecture. References made to buildings in London such as Adelaide House and County Hall date the album to most probably the first half of the 20th century. Album measures 21 cm x 14 cm and is clean and unmarked throughout.
